The Residence “At the Stellario” is a finely restored and refurbished apartment in March 2010.
The apartment which is situated on the first floor of a 19th century Lucchese “palazzo” is located in the heart of historical Lucca on one of its most ancient city street Via del Fosso and close to San Francesco Square, the sculpture dedicated to the Virgin Mary called “Stellario”, and in walking distance to many of Lucca’s more famous landmarks such as the Medieval Gate of San Gervasio and the circular piazza of the Amphitheater.
Completely restored with high quality finishing’s the residence has maintained the original architecture and character resulting in a comfortable and warm ambience. The floors and wooden ceilings have been restored to their original traditional Lucchese splendor.
Decorated with high quality contemporary and antique furnishing and décor the residence can accommodate four adults comfortably. The residence has a large living/dining room, kitchen with small terrace, Master bedroom, bathroom, another large bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom, and a small storage room. In the living room is also a comfortable sofa bed for 2 more people.
Guests are provided with high quality towels and linen; flat screen television (in the living room and master bedroom) and wireless Internet connection.
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove top, electric oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator with small freezer, dishwasher and washing machine along with all kitchen and dining wares.
The residence also comes with Central Air Conditioning and Heating.
Lucca is a city known for its Art and cultural heritage.
Lucca with its typical historical center has preserved its towers, medieval churches, renaissance palaces and 18th century squares thanks to the beautiful ring of city walls which has preserved this jewel city from invaders and developers. The four kilometers of city walls circumvent Lucca and have been transformed into a city park for pedestrians and bicycles only.
The residence “At the Stellario” is walking distance to the city walls and is also very close to many main local attractions such as monuments, museums, churches, and piazza’s. Stellario is easily accessible by car or is also walking distance to the train and bus stations (about 700 m). Pay parking lots are available in close proximity for cars and motorcycles; bicycles rental shops are also close to the residence.In the surrounding area there are several quality restaurants, typical family owned trattorias, bakeries and aromatic coffee houses along with other characteristic Lucchese shops. The Contemporary Art Museum Lu.C.C.A, the Villa Guinigi National Art Museum, the famous Circular Amphitheater, St. Michel Church with its beautiful Piazza are all located a few minutes away on foot. Also very close are historical streets like Via Fillungo and Via S. Croce, which make up the heart of Lucca’s luxury shopping district and Via del Battistero dedicated entirely to Antiques.
The ancient walled city of Lucca with its cultural history is home to many traditions that can be experienced while staying at the residence "At Stellario".
Evening concerts by Giacomo Puccini, at the Church of St. John, performed at 360 days' years, antique markets every third Sunday of the month, around Piazza San Giusto.
In the same area every fourth Sunday of the month there is a craft fair, where artists exhibit and sell from all over Italy. Lucca is also home to its "market Common every Wednesday and Saturday from Porta Elisa Via Bacchettoni all within walking distance from the Residence.
